Summary of Duties:

Under the director supervision of the Director of Health Programs, the duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Coordinator will include, but will not be limited, to the following:

  • Provide administrative support for the Health Director, health department program staff.
  • Provide administrative and outreach support for health initiatives for NAACP units and including adult branches, college chapters and youth councils.
  • Coordinate mailings, conference calls, and logistics related to conferences, symposia, or other NAACP Health gatherings
  • Develop minutes and regular electronic communication with NAACP national board health committee.
  • Coordinate communications with health partners and other partners associated with projects.
  • Oversee national health website uploading
  • Assist with organizing health advocacy initiatives in the field with local units.
  • Assist in outreach to NAACP Units on health issues and program development
  • Create tracking/contact databases to support each program including HIV, childhood obesity and health & Wellness.
  • Perform other such administrative related duties as may be assigned or delegated by the National Health Director.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess many, if not all, of the following professional qualifications, competencies and personal qualities:

  • High level administrative and documents review experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software and website upkeep.
  • Strong organizational and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular core business hours as needed.
