The 2007 Daisy Bates Education Summit will be held in Little Rock, Arkansas May 17 - 19, 2007 under the theme "Little Rock Central High 1957: Honoring the Legacy, Facing the Challenge."

The 7th Biennial Daisy Bates Educational Summit will also commemoratively observe the 50th Anniversary of the integration of Central High School by the "Little Rock Nine." As such, events and activities that take place will highlight the life and contributions of Mrs. Daisy Bates and those of the Little Rock Nine to the larger civil rights community and the nation in general.

The National Education Department is collaborating on the planning and implementation of the Daisy Bates Education Summit with a number of strategic partners including the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
