One-half of the U.S. population will be nonwhite by 2050, as projected by the U.S. Census Bureau. Between 2000 and 2050, the white population will grow 7 percent. In contrast, the African-American population will grow 71 percent, the Latino population will increase 188 percent and the Asian population will grow 213 percent.
