11 Million Dollars Available in Community Development Grants

Do you or someone you know work for a 501c3 dedicated to community improvement and/or development in communities of color?

Then apply today for UrbanLIFT! UrbanLIFT is a community grant program, launched by Wells Fargo and NeighborWorks America, to accelerate economic recovery and neighborhood stabilization in 25 cities. Wells Fargo and NeighborWorks have committed over $11 million dollars to support neighborhood improvement efforts in diverse housing markets severely impacted by the housing crisis.

UrbanLIFT provides financial support to local, state and national 501c3s for projects in the following four areas:

1. Single- family housing rehabilitation (minimum grant amount is $150,000)
2. Demolition (minimum grant amount is $150,000)
3. Neighborhood improvement (minimum is $50,000, maximum is $458,600)
4. Housing-related site improvement (minimum is $50,000, maximum is $458,600)

All proposed projects must be located in specific census tracts within the following cities:

Phoenix; Bakersfield, Fresno, Los Angeles, Modesto, Riverside, Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Ana, San Jose, Stockton and Vallejo, Calif.; Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and West Palm Beach, FL; Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, TX; Detroit; Kansas City and St. Louis, MO; Las Vegas; New York; Memphis, TN; and Virginia Beach, VA.
