NAACP Delegation Meets with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to Address Gun Violence

NAACP Interim President and CEO, Lorraine Miller was a part of a delegation that met with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to discuss ways to fight gun violence in the city.

National NAACP board member, Ed DuBose commented on the impact of violence on communities in Chicago:

Locking them up is not going to solve the problem. Crime has greatly affected Chicago neighborhoods, primarily with young black men 15-25 years old.

Joining the NAACP delegation was Interim NAACP President and CEO, Lorraine C. Miller.  The delegation included national board members from, Connecticut, South Carolina and California.

NAACP board members plan to return to Chicago with a plan of action in January.
