State of the Environment in the South: Emergency Summit July 6-7
Posted on June 29, 2012
Author and “godfather of environmental justice” Robert Bullard got it right when he entitled one of his books “Dumping on Dixie.” The NAACP along with Texas Southern University is holding an emergency summit to examine widespread environmental, economic and climate injustice throughout the south – from The BP Oil spill that took lives and livelihoods to sewage in Alabama homes and coal fired power plants poisoning the lungs of children in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia and beyond. Participants will form an emergency plan to fix this crisis.
