“A Young Professional Leadership Development Training Program”

The NAACP Next Generation Program (NextGen) is a 12-month leadership development training program for young adults between the ages of 21 and 35 to receive comprehensive leadership and advocacy training to develop leadership competencies to become effective civil rights leaders.   The NextGen program features a series of trainings, including leadership development, legislative action, unit administration, advocacy and program planning consistent with the six NAACP Game Changer areas, which include economic sustainability, education, health, criminal justice, political action and youth engagement.

The NEXTGEN Application is open to young adults between the ages of 21 and 35.  You are not required to be a member when you apply for the program, but you will be required to become a Subscribing Life Member of an Adult Branch once accepted into the NEXTGEN Program.  The 2020 NEXTGEN Application will close on November 1, 2019. Applicants will be notified by February of 2020.  The 2020 NEXTGEN Training will commence in March of 2020.

2-websiteYoung adults interested in developing leadership skills to become effective civil rights activists and members of Adult Branches, At-Large members, former youth council members, college chapter members and Academic, Cultural, Technological, Scientific Olympics of the Mind (ACT-SO) participants are encouraged to apply for the 2020 NEXTGEN Program. Graduates of the training will go on to participate and contribute to the NAACP’s Leadership 500 (L500) Program.  The NAACP NEXTGEN Program works in tandem with L500 and the NAACP’s Youth & College Division as a vertically aligned leadership development initiative.

 

2020 NOMINATION FORM

Nominate a young adult between the ages of 21 and 35, by completing this nomination form. Nominees may include young adults interested in joining the NAACP, current NAACP members or former NAACP members who participated in a youth councils, college chapters, young adult councils or Academic, Cultural, Technological, Scientific Olympics of the Mind (ACT-SO) program.

2020 APPLICATION FORM

To apply for the NAACP 2020 NEXTGEN Program, complete this application. The application has closed for the 2019 NEXTGEN Training Program. The 2020 NEXTGEN Application will close on November 1, 2019. Applicants will be notified by February of 2020. Only the Applicant shall complete the Application.
