98th NAACP Annual Convention
Detroit, MI - July 7-12, 2007
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the nation's oldest pre-eminent civil rights organization. In existence for nearly a century the NAACP is responsible for a number of victories in the struggle for justice and equality in America. The Association continues to be at the forefront of issues paramount to our communities. Our efforts have lead to the launch of new initiatives and programs aimed at eliminating disparities in economic development, healthcare, education, technology and many other issues.
The Association is active internationally, dividing the United States and four supporting countries into seven regions. With a current active membership of more than a 300,00 million, the NAACP has over 200 college chapters, 500 youth councils and 1700 adult branches with overseas branches in Germany, Italy, Korea and Japan.
The NAACP Annual Convention is regarded as the event of the year for those engaged in civil rights advocacy and ensuring equality for all Americans. We invite you to make a commitment to support our annual convention by becoming a sponsor. Workshops and plenary sessions focusing on national issues have been planned to create a dialogue on civil rights advocacy issues in education, economic empowerment, health outreach, civil liberties and youth leadership development.
Our sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers will find that this year's convention underscores the challenges facing communities of color across the country. In the 98th year, over 8,000 members, civil rights leaders, volunteers, policy makers, and corporation will meet to share models for civil rights advocacy and strengthening communities. Many corporations return each year, understanding and progressively gaining from the worthwhile event.
Participation as a sponsor of the 98th Annual Convention demonstrates your commitment to the education, political, social justice and civil rights goals of the NAACP. Sponsoring an event or workshop will provide the opportunity to interact with national African American thought and opinion leaders, civil rights activists, and other influential members of the community.
The Association offers a unique opportunity to share your products and services through the integration of technology and utilization of an online web cast. Through our online web cast we are able to expand our outreach and message to millions of viewers over the five-day convention.
The 38th Commerce and Industry Show will represent a broad spectrum of organizations -- from Fortune 500 companies, government and social service agencies to minority-owned businesses and institutions of higher education. Some 15,000 people visit the show over four days. Your company's message will reach thousands of individuals. Exhibitors are sure to deliver their message to a plethora of key decision-makers attending the convention.
The NAACP Program Information Exchange Center will be displayed in our exhibit area and focuses on the NAACP programs, services and collaborative relationships of the NAACP Programs Department. The NAACP also annually convenes its career fair in the exhibit area. Human Resource professionals from corporations and government agencies will have access to more than 6,000 highly qualified professionals seeking all levels of employment opportunity.
As a diamond, platinum or gold level sponsor, you can maximize your company's support and guarantee exposure of your products or services with a full-page 4/color advertisement in the official convention program book.
