BALTIMORE (July 26, 2017) – The NAACP Task Force on Quality Education presents its findings from its seven-city public hearings tour on charter school quality and oversight.
The NAACP National Board of Directors created the Task Force on Quality Education following its October 2016 ratification of a resolution issuing a moratorium on the expansion of charter schools—at least until certain standards of quality and accountability are met. The Task Force hosted public hearings with teachers, parents and policy experts in New Haven, CT; Memphis, TN; Orlando, FL; Los Angeles, CA; Detroit, MI; New Orleans, LA and New York, NY.
