The NAACP filed an amicus brief in support of respondent, arguing that neither Int’l Bhd. Of Teamsters v. United States, 431 U.S. 324 (1977) nor Title VII guarantee Wal-Mart individualized hearings in which to respond to each class member’s claims. The NAACP joined Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Asian American Justice Center, Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California, Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center, Mexican American Legal Defense & Education Fund, NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund, Public Advocates and Women Employed.
