Morandon A Henry

hthmigmt_400x400Morandon A Henry is an up and coming political leader of today. He serves as a voice of strength for a generation of young people in his community and beyond. With a unique ability to both influence and inspire change and has been highly instrumental in representing and articulating the views of young people.Henry is aspiring to be one of today’s most gifted leaders in both politics and social activism.

In 2010, Henry recognized that his community needed innovative leadership to concentrate on the needs of African Americans. After being inspired by his mentor, Congresswoman Barbara Lee and his grandparents, Henry attended the Oakland NAACP Youth Council leadership training which was the very first time he was introduced to the NAACP shown in a youth perspective. During this training, a flame within a young activist was lit. Since then, Morandon’s interest in pertinent issues and passion for serving the association never ceased.

In the NAACP, he has fulfilled several roles at the local, state, and national levels. He is currently a member of the NAACP National Board of Directors, and 2nd Vice President of the California Hawaii NAACP Youth & College Division.

Mr. Henry has an extensive and proven working knowledge of Public Policy and Civic Engagement. Most recently, he served as a field organizer for Hillary For America during the California primary, where he hosted many campaigns.

Morandon is currently the Bay Area political director for the California Young Democrats Black Caucus.

He has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the NAACP Gloster B Current National Youth Leadership Award, the City of Berkeley Mayors Award, Consorts Club of the Bay Area Youth Scholar Award, and Oakland Unified School District community service award.

Morandon is a Senior at Oral Roberts University, majoring in Government.

He is a native of Berkeley, California.
