Samuel Gaillard is the Chief Financial Officer for the NAACP and brings more than twenty-five years of accounting, auditing, and tax experience with non-profit organizations.
Mr. Gaillard’s extensive background includes providing accounting, audit, tax, and consultation services to advocacy, social welfare organizations, and membership organizations. He has specialized knowledge regarding the accounting for contributions and grants to charitable organizations. He also has assisted organizations with the implementation of accounting software and the development and implementation of internal control procedures.
Prior to joining NAACP in 2013, Mr. Gaillard held senior management positions with other not-for-profit organizations and provided accounting, audit, tax, and consultation services while a member of several local Washington, D.C. accounting firms.
Mr. Gaillard also has served on several boards of non-profit organizations and as a member of the AICPA non-profit section. He’s a member of the Knights of Columbus and helped charter a chapter at St. Augustine’s in Washington, D.C., the mother church of African-American Catholics in the nation’s capital.
Mr. Gaillard received a B.A. in accounting from The Catholic University of America. He is a certified public accountant (inactive) and a certified global management accountant. Most importantly, Mr. Gaillard is a die-hard baseball fan and has a chocolate-colored mini poodle named Hershey.
