NAACP Leadership Summit to Hold Town Hall on Development of Black Men
Now in its 8th year, the NAACP Leadership 500 Summit convenes some of the most talented and well-networked professionals, advocates and community leaders to strategize around issues like this that affect our communities nationwide.
It has always been up to the Leadership 500 community to tackle issues of consequence. When the Summit convenes in Florida, we will host a town hall to discuss the state of men of color in America and find community solutions to help reverse alarming trends in our communities related to the criminal justice system, including black-on-black crime, relations with law enforcement and the justice system, and education.

The Trayvon Martin case hit home for many of us. His case is one of many where black men are marginalized, criminalized and mistreated by the very systems that are supposed to develop them. We are encouraged by the arrest of George Zimmerman, but we know this is just the beginning of a movement to create a safer America for our children, and a better America for us all.
