Photos: NAACP Relief Efforts in Alabama

On May 3, 2011, NAACP President & CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous traveled with national staff to Birmingham, AL to survey the damage left behind from the tornadoes that ravaged the area on April 26.

Since the disaster ravaged the state, the Alabama NAACP State Conference has joined other volunteers in aiding the Red Cross, treating injured survivors and assisting families with basic needs as they begin to rebuild their lives. If you have friends or family in Alabama affected, ask them to contact the Alabama NAACP at (256) 444-1300 for assistance.
