Ana Aponte-Curtis

As Vice President of our Events Planning Department, Ana has been employed with the NAACP for 40 years and her responsibilities include to direct the internal operation of the Events Planning Department, implementing approved objectives, plans and policies, coordinates the activities of the department, provides the overall management and budgetary oversight for activities of the Events Planning Department, all conferences, meetings, meeting locations, travel, vendors, logistics, exhibits, operations.

Ms. Aponte serves as staff liaison to the Board Convention Planning Committee. Works with the office of Development to identify potential sponsors for NAACP conference needs, both monetary and in-kind resources; maintains contact with hotels, convention and visitors bureaus and convention centers to prepare for the NAACP Conferences and other NAACP sponsored meetings and functions. Maintains rapport with suppliers utilized by the NAACP and utilizes African American vendors, participates in professional organizations representing the hospitality and meeting planning industry.
