Donald L. Cash
Donald L. Cash is President of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Minority Coalition. He is also the Founder of Faces of Our Children, Inc., a non-profit organization formed to raise awareness, support and funding for the fight against sickle cell disease. Prior to becoming President of the UFCW Minority Coalition, he served as Executive Assistant to the President of UFCW, Local 400, the largest union of its type in the U.S. and Canada, representing more than 35,000 workers.
For the past 43 years, Don has fought tirelessly to show that the abuses of worker rights and human rights are one in the same. Over the years he has unselfishly devoted his time and talents by serving in some capacity with more organizations devoted to community improvement, civil rights and improving living conditions for working families than space will allow to mention. His efforts were recognized in 2001 by the NAACP when he was awarded the prestigious Benjamin Hooks “Keeper of the Flame Award.”
Don is a life-long community activist, organizer and an experienced civil rights veteran and was elected to serve on the NAACP Region VII National Board of Directors in 2006 and 2009.
