Advisory: NAACP To Release New Report on Diversity in the Hotel and Lodging Industry

On November 30, 2012, the NAACP will announce its findings from their Opportunity & Diversity Report Card: Hotel & Lodging Industry” in conjunction with the National Meeting Planners Association Conference in Atlanta, GA.  The Report Card grades the largest companies on their representation of African Americans and people of color as a whole with respect to workforce, supplier diversity and ownership. This first release of the Opportunity and Diversity Report Card signifies the NAACP’s re-entry into the work of advocacy for greater corporate diversity and inclusion. 

NAACP’s first Opportunity & Diversity Report Card focuses on the lodging industry, one of the fastest growing industries in the country with nearly 4.5 million people comprising its workforce as of 2010.  The industry anticipates an 8% increase over the next 10 years.
