WHAT:        
The NAACP will honor Grammy-Award winner Opera and Jazz singer Jessye Norman with the distinguished Spingarn Medal during the NAACP’s 104th National Convention in Orlando, Florida.  Norman will be the 98th recipient of Spingarn Medal.

The Spingarn Medal, the NAACP’s highest honor, is awarded for outstanding and noble achievement by an American of African descent. Civil rights Icon John Lewis will present the award to Jessye Norman and musical group En Vogue will perform.
