Executive Leadership Track

The Executive Leadership Track is for all appointed and elected Executive Committee Members and Unit officers only (state and local). This track covers the fundamentals in Operations, Policy and Advocacy to properly and effectively serve as an NAACP Executive Committee Member. (This training is currently optional for State Conference Executive Committee Members; but mandatory for Branch Executive Committee Members.)

Certification Requirements

Any NAACP Unit Officer or Executive Committee Member elected at the Annual Meeting or November Branch election cycle and any standing committee chairperson, who has not previously participated in the eight (8) hour Mandatory Training, must complete Executive Leadership Mandatory Certification Training by February 28th of the first year of their term. Individuals who have not been previously trained are required to participate in instructor-led training.
Any Unit Officer or Executive Committee Member elected at the Annual Meeting or November Branch election cycle, who previously completed Mandatory Training must complete no less than four (4) hours of continuing Mandatory Training by May 31st of the first year of their term. Individuals who have been previously trained have the option of instructor-led training or web-based training.

Course Availability

Eight (8) hour sessions and four (4) hour sessions are offered during predetermined unit (state and local) meetings. Note: Four (4) hour sessions will be conducted during the second half of the eight (8) hour instructor-led training.

The 2007 NAACP Executive Leadership Certification Training workbook is available for download. This workbook is designed to assist newly appointed and elected officers in the NAACP and covers the areas of operations, public policy, and advocacy.
