NAACP on Bombing Attempts against Media, African American Leaders and Progressives

October 25, 2018

BALTIMORE (October 25, 2018)—With less than two weeks before the critical midterm elections, the discovery of pipe bombs across the country sent to those who have been critical of the current president shows, yet again, how fractured we are as a society. Contrary to what the Trump Administration has been stating in the aftermath of these discoveries, their rhetoric prior to this has been quite the opposite. Although Trump didn’t create the racism and the domestic white nationalism and terrorism that continue to cloud this country, he has on countless occasions incited and empowered people to act out in a way that is truly disturbing and threatens our democracy.
