Bob Lydia has been a self-employed businessman in Dallas for the last thirty years. He currently owns and operates A-Plus Services. He has strived to make economic empowerment through entrepreneurship a reality for himself and other minorities in the city.
Mr. Lydia was born and raised in East Texas: Tyler. Attended and graduated with honors from Emmitt Scott High School. He attended El Centro College, and the University of Texas at Dallas.
Bob has a long and impressive history with the NAACP dating back to Juanita Craft and his involvement in her Youth Council. He has held numerous positions within the association on a local, state, regional and national level. His present positions with the NAACP include: 1stVice President of the Texas State Conference of NAACP Branches and Region VI National Board of Directors. Additionally, Bob has been an active supporter of the Park South YMCA and is a member of the US Civil Rights Commission and the South Dallas Lion Club.
Mr. Lydia has received numerous awards from the NAACP and other community groups and organizations. He is a life member of the NAACP in Dallas and Killeen, Texas.
Bob is married to Linda and they have three children: Ava, Karen, and Rob. He is a faithful member of Concord Church of Dallas.
