The Civil Rights Federal Legislative Report Card documents the voting patterns of your congressional representatives over the course of the year. At a glance, you'll see how your congressperson voted on policies impacting social justice, civil rights, human rights, and other issues important to you.
The votes presented in the Legislative Report Card are those considered by the full U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. The report card, a crucial accountability tool, is updated twice each cohort of Congress, once at the end of the first year as a mid-term assessment and again at the end of the second year.
2019 Civil Rights Federal Legislative Report Card
2019 was extremely demonstrative of the stark differences between the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. The House adopted several bills to advance the NAACP legislative agenda in 2019, while the Senate focused on confirming members to the judiciary who neither reflected the civil rights values of NAACP membership nor supported our agenda.
